A multi-day, land-based expedition focused on one of the most dynamic wildlife events in the ocean, the Mexican sardine run. We head out each day in search of fast-paced predator-prey interactions involving striped marlin, sea lions, dolphins, and other pelagic species.

No, this is a land-based expedition.
We stay on the island, which gives us a head start each morning and allows us to maximize time in the water and proximity to wildlife activity.

The main highlight is striped marlin hunting sardines, often in high-speed feeding events.
You may also encounter sea lions, dolphins, mobula rays, whales, and other pelagic predators.
Each day is different, and encounters can be intense and unpredictable.

No. This is a wild and highly dynamic natural event, and nothing is guaranteed. Some days can be extremely active, while others may require more searching, this variability is part of the experience.

Yes, when conditions are safe and interactions are respectful, we enter the water for in-water encounters.
These are often fast-paced situations, and quick entries/exits may be required.

Yes. This is an advanced snorkeling/freediving experience.
You should be comfortable:

  • Swimming in open ocean conditions
  • Entering and exiting the boat
  • Spending multiple days on the water
  • Previous snorkeling experience is required.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. We can accommodate most dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
We operate in small groups to ensure a more personal, safe, and high-quality experience, both on land and at sea, with a maximum of 7 guests.

Swimsuit, towel, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and comfortable clothing.
It can get cold, especially in the mornings, evenings, and during time on the boat.
We recommend bringing warm layers and a jacket or windbreaker.
We provide a 3mm wetsuit, but if you tend to get cold easily, you may want to bring a thicker wetsuit for additional comfort.

We spend long days in open ocean conditions, which can be variable.
If you’re prone to seasickness, we strongly recommend taking medication beforehand.

Yes! Many of our guests join solo.
These expeditions are a great way to meet like-minded people, and it’s very common to form strong connections throughout the trip.
